You Don’t Have to Write Every Day if You Don’t Want to

You can choose how often or how seldom you write and frankly, that’s exactly what Medium is for

Since joining Medium back in 2013, I’ve been a fairly active member. Although I don’t consistently publish an article every single day — I barely even publish once a week as of lately — I do make it a point to log in every day, read a few articles, check on my stats, and respond to comments from readers (if there are any).

It keeps me in the loop with what’s going on in the writing world and I do enjoy maintaining some level of routine when it comes to using this platform.

Throughout the course of my years on Medium, one of the things I’ve noticed during my daily routine of logging in and getting a quick snapshot of the top articles being recommended to me is that there’s always at least one article each day that has something to do with urging Writers to write every single day.

And whenever I come across these articles, I naturally feel guilty for not putting this practice into play with my own writing. But, then I take a step back and think to myself, “Is that really necessary? Does that actually help?” I often wonder if I’d be a better, more successful Writer if I did.
