When it Comes to Writing, Should We Play to Our Audience?
How often should we intentionally write about topics that we know will resonate with our audience?
I’ve been working in the field of Digital Advertising for nearly seven years now. It wasn’t necessarily my original post-college graduation plan, yet lo and behold, here I am (still).
Though despite it not being my number one desired career path per se, there is however a silver lining towards the amount of knowledge, insight, and skills that I have gained after being in this particular industry for this long — especially in the technological age that we’re currently living in.
One of the key takeaways that I’ve learned from working in Advertising is how important it is to really know your audience — And when it comes to writing, this can be a make it or break it situation every single time that we publish an article, which is why I pose the question…
Should we play to our audience?
I phrase this question using the word “play” because often times, I think about writing in a similar way to how I think about musical artists and musicians and how they can all fall under so many different genres.
