“A short-haired woman with a backpack walking through a busy square” by Steven Lewis on Unsplash

We leave behind

a piece of us

everywhere we go

how far that piece will travel

we may never know

With hopeful wish

it travels far

through everyone we meet

so, if we choose to return

an old friend we will greet

this is why we travel

to cast ourselves ashore

for every time we leave our home

it opens a new door
