This is What’s Wrong with Reality TV Shows Like ‘Love is Blind’
Meeting the person you plan to spend the rest of your life with in only a matter of weeks is just not enough time
Since the pandemic started, one of the newer bad habits I’ve picked up over time is watching [bad] reality dating television shows. I was never really too into them, but like many of us, I just needed something mindless to watch to distract myself from everything that was going on in the world.
As of recently, I fell down another deep, dark rabbit hole of watching Season 2 of ‘Love is Blind’ on Netflix (without having watched the first season) and for those who haven’t seen or heard about it, I’ll give you the whole premise of the show.
In short, a group of men and women are brought in to learn how to connect with another person, fall in love, get engaged, and ultimately get married without ever even meeting each other face to face from the very beginning. The timeline is only a few short weeks for them to form a connection and choose who they wish to spend the rest of their life with.
