If You’re Newly Married, Here’s My Biggest Piece of Advice to You
Soak in those exciting early months of the newlywed phase
My husband and I will be celebrating our five-year wedding anniversary this coming September and I can honestly say that it has truly flown by. I have to credit the phrase that time really does fly when you’re having fun, especially when there’s a lot going on in your lives.
For us, a lot has happened in our lives since getting married— the dark days of COVID-19 being one of the pretty big ones — but, the global pandemic aside, we’ve also managed to squeeze in many major life milestones in our nearly five years of marital bliss.
Some of these major milestones include moving out of New York City and into the suburbs, buying our first house, starting many new jobs between the two of us, celebrating the birth of our first child (plus, anticipating the birth of our second child next month), and grieving the passing of my Dad, which happened concurrently during the peak of the pandemic.
Needless to say, I feel as though we’ve been put through the ringer in our newlywed days, which has definitely brought us closer together and made us much stronger as a couple. Of course, I’m not naive to think that we won’t continue to overcome many more obstacles down the road and…
