I really appreciated this article and I love that it challenged my own unintentional frustrations when receiving advice from my friends/family who don’t have children. I think you really hit the nail on the head with the root issue of not feeling understood - that was my biggest pain point when I first became a parent.

I guess from my perspective (and I’m sure many other parents) is that it’s difficult when you’re tired and drained from parenting, and you ask for advice, but what you really want is just a little breather and for someone to tell you that you’re doing a good job to help you get through it. Often times in life, when we ask for advice, we don’t necessarily want the advice itself, but rather the support and encouragement.
