I Think My Mom Loves My Daughter More than Me— and I’m Kind of Jealous?
For the record, my Mother and I never had the closest relationship growing up
I love seeing the growing bond between my Mom and my daughter. Being that my daughter is my Mom’s first grandchild, there was no doubt in my mind that she was going to pour every ounce of love into her as she possibly could.
I live less than a five-minute drive from my Mom’s house, so it’s only natural that we see her nearly every day. As a full-time working Mom, I’m fortunate to have the luxury of parents living nearby. Additionally, my Mom has taken on the role as a secondary caretaker which is a huge help during the work week.
My Mother-in-law shares that responsibility as well, however, my Mom gets a majority of the days. So, it’s no surprise that when it comes to familiarity, my Mom’s face is right up there alongside me and my husband.
One day recently after making the trek into the office and returning home after work, I excitedly went to pick up my daughter as my Mom was standing right next to me and instead of jumping into my arms, I notice my daughter’s little arms stretching out for my Mom instead.
