10 Things You (Probably) Didn’t Know About Me
Disclaimer: Some things may have already been accidentally shared in past articles and/or social media

For full transparency, I was going to (eventually) comment on Jodi Tandet’s article by saying that I was too lazy to write this article when she tagged me.
But, then I woke up this morning to find that I was also tagged by Jeff Barton.
So, I guess I could give this a whirl.
In all honesty, I’m a huge nerd when it comes to these types of things — This probably could have been one of my facts.
Despite the vast majority, I actually love icebreakers and those corny games that you played in the beginning of school or at Summer camp in order to get to know everyone a little better.
And I used to fill out every single survey that someone tagged me in on Facebook back when it was cool to actually do that (I guess it’s making a comeback on Medium).
So, here it goes —
1.) I graduated with a degree in Exercise Science.
And I’ve never once had a job since college where it even remotely related to this field.
I don’t at all regret my degree of choice (even though I didn’t end up pursuing work in this field). At the time, I loved the curriculum, loved my professors, and loved my classes, so it wasn’t for nothing.
2. I’ve had 7 jobs at 6 different companies in the past 6 years.
Two of which were due to being laid off — And I’m not at all ashamed to admit that.
I’ve jumped around between companies quite a bit since I moved to New York in 2012, but I guess that’s not too far off from the fickle norm of my generation.
3. I’ve ran 3 full marathons.
And I’m going for my fourth next month.
My first job out of college was at Runner’s World Magazine where I had the opportunity to work some really amazing events for marathons across the US.
When the opportunity came for me to run one through the company, I couldn’t turn it down — And so began my marathon obsession.
4. I’m not allergic to anything (as far as I know).
But, stay tuned for updates if I happen to find myself in an emergency room with an EpiPen sticking out of my leg.
I’m sure that would be make for a good story down the road.
5. I used to be in a band with my sister.
Our band was called “Until Love” — It was me, my sister, and our mutual friend. We even played some paid gigs around Manhattan and Brooklyn.
It lasted about a year, up until me and my sister (ironically) found love.
6. I’ve never broken a single bone in my body.
And I’m really hoping to keep it that way…forever
7. I once had to actually be rescued by a lifeguard when I was at the beach.
I was 13 and I got caught in an undertow which took me so far out from the shore that the people on the beach looked like ants.
I used to think that lifeguards just sat up there and tanned all Summer, but thank God for the guy that rescued me because I almost drowned.
8. I won $300 on a Wheel of Fortune game the first time that I ever went to a casino.
I was 18 and it also happened to be first time that I had ever flown on a plane in my life.
I was in California for my cousin’s wedding. My Aunt and Uncle took my sister and I to a casino on a Native American reservation and I didn’t even know how to gamble at that point. For the record, $300 for an 18-year-old seemed like a lot of money at the time.
9. I have an irrational fear of a zombie apocalypse actually happening.
I must have watched too many zombie movies as a kid, but I legitimately think that a zombie apocalypse is 100% possible.
I also have reoccurring zombie nightmares.
10. As far as my career goes, I really have no idea what I want to do with my life.
I guess this one is the twist that we’re supposed to include because similar to my nonexistent allergies, it can change.
I now nominate Leonor Brito, Sam H Arnold, Jonathan Greene, Sarah Talty, Steve Spring, and Shannon Ashley to take a stab at writing 10 things about yourself that people probably didn’t know.
